On my left we have Mr Ed Miliband and on my right we have Mr David Cameron, this being the latest scuffle in the on-going brawl between the two political heavyweights: round one, fight. They are currently battling over the relaxation of housing planning laws in England; both feel that the creation of 70,000 houses and 140,000 jobs is a great economic stimulant for the country, and this latest policy idea arrives in a year where there has been an increase in first time buyers, which in turn has pushed for the need of more entry level housing.
Obviously, they don’t agree on the small print – they never do – but we are not running for parliament, so we shall stay out of the politics and focus upon what really interests us, electrics.
If passed, the scheme will loosen the laws surrounding house extensions and conservatories of up to 8 metres in length. If the budding grand designer within you decides to take the plunge, you will be faced with a great deal of wiring and electrical appliances that will all need safely installing.
Here at PB Ross – Leicester’s premier electricians – we specialise in domestic builds with an aim to be affordable, reliable and of the highest quality and have a vast experience of electrical installations including:
• Socket installation/ Lighting control systems
• CCTV/ Door and gate entry control systems
• Meter installation/ Solar panel installation
• Kitchen appliance installation
• Power shower / hot tub / Jacuzzi installation
• Sound and Vision systems/ Computer data socket installation and networking
• Smoke detector mains interlink/ Carbon monoxide detectors
• Wiring and rewiring houses and fuse box installation
So if Mr Cameron can get the planning officers “off peoples backs” (his words), then it will represent a turning point in the electrical contractors and construction infrastructure of England and should result in more people looking to increase the space and value of their homes as a result. This could mean that come next summer people could be greeting the long summer mornings from their brand new conservatory, which, regardless of politics, can’t be a bad thing.
