Colourbank Carpets is Leicestershire’s largest supplier of carpets and beds.
We were invited to design and build the electrical installation for the company warehouse during its construction phase. While the company knew what they wanted to achieve, they were not sure how they wanted to go about doing it. We were asked to put together a plan that met the company’s needs while also considering the new energy consumption regulations.
Additionally, delays with the building contractors were a concern as the progress of build could affect the timeline of the project, infrastructural quality, and the security of the building.
Working together with the owner, we assessed the building plans and created a plan of action for this commercial electrical installation. The design involved installing emergency lighting to BS mains distribution local power, provision for air conditioning units, and installing lifts to comply with disabled regulations and the various fork lift trucks and machinery moving throughout the warehouse.
Working around the building contractor, we were able to finish the project to the satisfaction of the client. By regularly monitoring the progression of the rest of the building and adjusting accordingly, we finished under budget.
The NIC inspected this job and found no faults with the method of installation and everything was found to be compliant.
